The finalists have shown they are yet again a group of remarkable local women chosen from the hundreds of entries for their achievements, professionalism and their invaluable contribution they make to our community. Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network President, Sue Willis says that each year these prominent awards attract a high calibre of business women and it is an achievement in itself to be nominated and selected as a finalist. “These talented nominees come from a diverse range of backgrounds and industries, it never fails to surprise me just how many amazing business women there are on the Sunshine Coast,” said Sue. The awards have become recognised as the most prestigious for Sunshine Coast business women and are highly sought after, which was reflected in the 148 nominations and 47 submissions over 4 categories received this year. The award categories include corporate, micro/small business, professional and young business woman, with the overall winner taking home the title of Outstanding Business Woman of the Year. “From business owners to corporate leaders, to innovators, community visionaries and successful young women, the Sunshine Coast Business Woman of Year winners have continued to contribute to local business and community initiatives with many of them going on to become finalists of, and even so far as to win, the state and national Telstra Business Awards,” said Sue. The major sponsors for this year's awards include the Sunshine Coast Daily, The University of the Sunshine Coast Faculty of Business, Garland Waddington Solicitors, ANZ and Telstra Country Wide. Finalists will now undergo interviews with the judging panel as preparations commence for the highly prestigious gala event.
