Secret Women's Business

17 February 2010

The Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network will today Wednesday, February 17 launch their Business Mentoring Program, aimed at developing strong business skills across various industries for women in small business, at Surfair Marcoola.

The personal development and business skills program which runs from March through until May will provide selected participants with the opportunity to learn from some of the region's best business professionals.

Following the success of the program in 2009, Sue Willis President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network is excited about what the 2010 program has to offer with the high calibre of business mentors involved this year.

“The network has managed to secure a diverse range of business leaders from a cross-section of industries to deliver a series of workshops aimed at small business,” said Sue.

Dedicated to the personal and professional development of its members, the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network Mentoring Program coordinator, Nicole Slyvester says that the mentoring program is one of the many great initiatives designed to build stronger business and facilitate the development of our future business leaders.

“Sixteen eager participants were selected to participate in this year's program which will be predominantly action based, with mentors focusing on the specific skills, tasks and actions required by participants to implement into their businesses,” Nicole said.

“We have found the program in the past to be very successful with many participants growing both personally and professionally.”

The program not only aims to grow and develop businesses but also provides women with the opportunity to build a broader business network, encouraging members and mentors to help each other resolve issues, share experiences and cross match their skills.

“The course offers these women a sensational opportunity to tap into some of the best female business minds across a diverse range of industries,” Nicole said.

The program proudly sponsored by heritage Building Society kick off today from 4-6pm at Surfair Marcoola. For further information, please visit www.scbwn.org.au.
