Nominate a business success

14 April 2008

Many of the coast's most influential business leaders and professionals came together today, Monday, April 14 to launch the 2008 Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year Awards at the Lake Kawana Community Centre.

Those attending the event had the opportunity to hear from last years winners and were encouraged to nominate someone they believed to be outstanding in their field of expertise.

Hosted by the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network, the awards recognise women who have made an outstanding contribution in business on the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network President, Karen Neuendorf, said that we are very fortunate to have so many exceptional women in business on the Sunshine Coast and nominating someone for an award is a great way to recognise the achievements of a client, colleague, family member, associate or friend.

“Each year the awards are highly contended, and as the network continues to grow, the calibre of nominations exceed expectations,” said Karen.

The Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network is now calling for nominations for the prestigious 2008 Business Woman of the Year Awards. The awards are open to all women in business across the coast, if you know of an outstanding business woman deserving of recognition, make sure you nominate.

“The awards have become recognised as the most prestigious for Sunshine Coast business women, which was reflected in the number of nominations and submissions received last year,” said Karen.

Entries are currently open across four categories; corporate, micro/small business, professional and young business woman, with the overall winner taking home the title of Outstanding Business Woman of the Year.

The major sponsors for this year's awards include the Sunshine Coast Daily, The University of the Sunshine Coast Faculty of Business, Garland Waddington Solicitors, Smart Advice and new supporter Telstra Country Wide.

Nominations for the 2008 Business Woman of the Year close on Friday, May 16 with the Gala Event being held on August 12 at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
