Exhibitors fast booking up Qld's top gardening expo

May 1, 2007

Excitement is building surrounding one of Australia 's largest and most celebrated events, with local and interstate exhibitors rushing to secure their sites for the 23 rd annual Queensland Home Garden Expo being held on the Coast from 6-8 July.

The event which attracts over 20,000 garden lovers and hundreds of horticulture professionals to the Maroochy Showgrounds every year has become a popular date on the calendar for exhibitors and this year promises to offer visitors more than ever.

Event organisers are delighted that almost 80 per cent of the sites are already booked, two months out from the popular event.

Alongside many of Australia 's famous garden shows, the Queensland Home Garden Expo features leading landscape designers, hundreds of exhibitors and lectures by our nation's best horticulturalists, which makes this one of the best gardening events in Australia .

“The Queensland Home Garden Expo is now ranked number one in Queensland and places amongst the top five gardening events in the country, attracting a large array of quality exhibitors from around Australia ,“ Event Manager, Marion Beazley said.

The expo will feature tantalising offerings from more than 340 exhibitors including 60 of the best nurseries selling over 40,000 top quality and new release plants daily.

Full-size gardens will provide the centrepiece for this spectacular annual event. This year's landscaped gardens will focus on unique design concepts such as highly topical water-wise gardening, permaculture, sustainability and gardening with native plants.

Special exhibits include the ‘Giant Organic Kitchen Garden' which features permaculture and organic gardening, with a fully planted sustainable garden constructed on-site along with an entirely organic food court.

A completely new concept for the Expo this year will be the ‘Outdoor Living Experience', which will showcase up to seven uniquely themed garden settings from the Italian-styled ‘Tuscan Garden' and ‘Romantic Asian Garden' to a wonderfully calm ‘Pamper Garden', complete with spa and sauna.

This year's expo will showcase a fabulous Shadehouse feature with all the best in ferns and shade loving plants as well as large displays from Queensland 's Garden Clubs and Flora Societies.

Some of Australia 's leading garden gurus will be joining the expo, hosting lectures, demos and workshops.

Radio 4BC's Col Campbell, ABC radio host Annette McFarlane , Brisbane Botanical Gardens Curator Ross McKinnon and Phil Dudman, presenter on WIN TV's Gardening Gurus Show, will all be in attendance.

“The event not only provides a wealth of information and inspiration for visitors, it is also a great and entertaining day out.” Marion Beazley said

Everything from the latest garden tools, books, accessories, garden art and more will be on-site over the three days.
