EcoNova cleans up

11 November 2008

Sustainable water solutions company, EcoNova, has successfully taken out two of the top awards at the recent Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards winning the Macro Environmental Industries Award and the overall Innovation Award.

The awards recognise outstanding businesses in the community and have come to be known as one of the most prestigious business events on the Sunshine Coast.

EcoNova has enjoyed significant growth in the past 12 months, both in turnover and in the number of employees and continues to secure large scale contracts across Australia.

EcoNova Director, Christian Uhrig is very honoured to be recognised for their achievements, particularly the overall award for innovation which they received for their MembraneSafe™ technology which is an integral part of all their water recycling products.

“In conjunction with three leading universities we developed a technology which allows us to cost effectively eliminate a minimum of 99.999% of germs from waste water, prior to recycling for reuse,” Mr Uhrig said.

“This technology ensures an environmentally friendly solution is available when recycling waste water for reuse or discharge. We are very proud to be recognised for our efforts and the impact this technology will have on our environment for years to come.”

EcoNova was established in 2003 to help meet the demand for Class A(+) quality recycled water with their MembraneSafe™ technology and now employs over 75 people and has a network of distributors and partners Australia-wide.

The company has tailor-made solutions for a myriad of clients including sustainable residential developments, mining accommodation, eco villages, golf clubs, environmentally sensitive communities as well as waste water solutions for domestic applications.

“Australia is in the midst of its worst drought on record, and Governments and individuals, conscious of climate change, are demanding environmentally sustainable solutions to ensure we make the most of our most precious resource – water,” Mr Uhrig said.
