The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band is all set to get locals up on their feet and dancing to the classic sounds of Glenn Miller at the Showband Dance to be held at the Kawana Community Hall on Saturday, July 11, from 7:30pm.

The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band will host a special commemorative Anzac Day concert at the Buderim War Memorial Hall on Sunday, April 19 at 2pm. The concert will pay tribute to those brave soldiers who have proudly fought to serve their country.

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will host a concert on Sunday, March 8 at the Kawana Community Centre to raise funds for the Nambour Special School. The band's concerts continue to attract music lovers from across the coast and this time guests will soak up the sounds of singers Bev Gourlay, Tanya McFadyn and Aart Schouten. The concert titled ‘chasing the blues away' will be compared by ABC's Cam Young.

The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band will host an afternoon of musical delights at Bellflower Retirement Resort, Sippy Downs on Sunday, October 26 from 2pm in support of Bloomhill Cancer Buderim.

This is the fifth year the band has been involved in supporting the Nambour Special School, donating all door takings from their concerts to the organisation.

The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band will kick off the New Year with a special concert in support of Blue Care on Sunday, February 24 from 2pm at the Caloundra Uniting Church. The band, led by musical director Ken Chadwick, will be accompanied by popular singers, Bev Gourlay and Aart Schouten and the event will be hosted by compere, Geoff Malcolm of 104.9 FM.

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will present a Remembrance Day Concert in support of Sunshine Coast Legacy on Saturday, 10 November at 2pm at the Baptist Community Centre in Wises Road, Maroochydore. The event will begin with a short Remembrance Day Ceremony with piper, Wayne Clark, bugler, Keith Walker and a Catafalque Party with TS Onslow. The concert will then be started with the Concert Band playing The Dambusters March, followed by the stirring hymn Abide With Me.

The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band is set to get people up on their feet and swinging when they put on their last dance for 2007 on Saturday, October 13 at the Kawana Community Hall. The band has been hosting dances for years and they have become a regular fixture on the calendar for those who want to get out and enjoy old favourites such as the foxtrot, modern waltz, cha cha and, of course, rock and roll.

The Coolum community will be pleased to know, Music Director Ken Chadwick, accompanied by local singers Bev Gourlay and Alan Winter, along with compere Geoff Malcolm, will be visiting Coolum again for their annual visit. Also on the program are Charlie's Angels the excellent Sunshine Coast saxophone quartet led by Charlie Simm.

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will be raising money for a good cause by putting on a variety concert at the Baptist Community Hall in Wises Road Maroochydore on Saturday May 19 at 2pm, in support of The Cancer Council Queensland. The Cancer Council Queensland is dedicated to eliminating cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, treatment, patient care, prevention and early detection.

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will present a variety concert at the Twin Waters Living Choice Resort in support of the Nambour Children's Hospital on March 25, at 2pm. All funds raised will go towards supporting the Nambour Children's Hospital in providing the best possible health care services for children across the Coast.

Just when you thought you'd heard the last of the “little drummer boy” until next Christmas, the Sunshine Coast Concert Band is raising the call for a drummer of their own. The forty-piece band has raised over $100,000 for local charities since its inception ten years ago and is made up of volunteers who love their music and enjoy bringing the joy of a big band to their many fans across the Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will perform in a music extravaganza on Sunday, September 25 at 2pm at the Kawana Community Hall to raise funds for the Tanawha Rural Fire Brigade. The funds raised will help the fire brigade cover their costs of fuel, equipment and maintenance for a community that really benefit from their services.

Sixty years ago then Governor Sir Leslie Wilson celebrated the successful protection of our north coast from the Japanese with the help of our American allies. To remember this great celebration a two-week programme has been organised starting with the placement of 500 white crosses to be received by the Australian Governor General and culminating in a formal ball to be held at the Caloundra Cultural Centre on Saturday, August 20.
