Caloundra Band performs for Legacy fundraiser

November 1, 2004

The 40-piece Caloundra City Concert Band will perform to raise funds for Legacy at the Baptist Church Hall in Wises Road, Maroochydore on November 7 at 1:30pm.

The band will be accompanied by guest performers Barrie Woods, Edna Farrow and Steven Moore and will also feature the great talents of the Queensland Symphonic Orchestra flute player, Chas Bromley. Graham Webb from Sunshine FM Radio will compere the event.

The varied programme, arranged and conducted by Ken Chadwick, will include a number of sing-along wartime favourites from the forties. The band will also perform some of their well-known numbers such as Dixieland and Glenn Miller and it promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment.

Funds raised will go to Legacy, which has assisted more than 130,000 widows, 3,000 children and 700 dependents of those who have served in the Australian armed forces in any conflicts since the First World War.

Tickets cost $10 per person including tea and coffee and can be purchased at the door or arranged by contacting Val on 5450 6680.

Ends.
