| Home Clients About us Contact us Results Feedback | Return to 'About Sunshine Coast Concert Band' Concert in the gardens to support local community projects29 August 2008 The award-winning band led by Music Director Ken Chadwick, will be accompanied by local singers Tanya McFadyen, Fiona Simpson and David Stygall. The special Father's Day concert will also include a performance by the very popular Sunshine Coast Grammar School Concert Band. The event is being run by the Rotary Club of Maroochydore and all proceeds of the concert will go to the friends of the botanic gardens, a group of volunteers who are responsible for the planting, landscaping and maintenance of the gardens, as well as other local community projects. “We are delighted to be performing in the beautiful surroundings of the botanical gardens and are extremely proud to be able to give something back and support the local community through one of our concerts,” Music Director, Ken Chadwick said. “This event promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment not only for dad, but for the whole family.” The band is committed to raising money for a number of local community groups and charities across the Sunshine Coast and in doing so has been able to provide much needed support to those in need. The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens are located along Palm Creek Road, Tanawha. Come along for a great afternoon and support the band in the gardens and bring a chair or picnic blanket, there will be plenty of shade available.
