Big Band collaborates with piano prodigy for charity event

The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band will team up with twenty-year-old piano sensation, Van-Anh Nguyen to help raise funds for Heart Reach Australia at the MBC Auditorium, North Buderim, on Saturday, May 17.
The concert will provide guests with a rare opportunity to enjoy great musical classics by the popular concert band with a special performance by young Van-Anh Nguyen on the piano.
A Vietnamese prodigy from Sydney, Van-Anh, will perform as a soloist on the piano playing some favourite melodies including the Hungarian Rhapsody, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Van Anh will also join the band, lead by Music Director, Ken Chadwick and accompanied by singers Bev Gourlay and Aart Schouten, in one-off performance playing Black and White Rag.
Ken Chadwick, is especially excited about the concert as he said that the collaboration of Sunshine Coast Concert Band and pianist will be a special treat for those attending.
“Audiences will be blown away by the musical genius of Van-Anh, she is exceptionally talented and we are delighted to have her play with us,” said Ken.
The concert starts at 2pm and promises to be a great afternoon out for the whole family.
Tickets will be available for $10 at the door and all proceeds go to Heart Reach Australia in aid of the children's sponsorship programs in Vietnam and Sri Lanka. For more information please phone 5457 9444.Ends.
