Concert in the gardens to support local community projects

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will perform a concert in the majestic Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens in support of local community-based projects on Sunday, September 9, at 1pm.

The award-winning band led by Music Director Ken Chadwick, will be accompanied by local singers Alan Winter and Jane Michele with compere Geoff Malcolm .

The Rotary Club of Maroochydore will be running this event and all proceeds of the concert will go to the Friends of the Botanic Gardens, a group of volunteers who are responsible for the planting, landscaping and maintenance of the gardens, as well as other local community projects.

“We are delighted to be performing in the beautiful surroundings of the botanical gardens and are extremely proud to be able to give something back and support the local community through one of our concerts,” Ken Chadwick said.

“The event promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment for the whole family.”

The band is committed to raising money for a number of local community groups and charities across the Sunshine Coast and in doing so has been able to provide much needed support to those in need.

The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens are located along Palm Creek Road, Tanawha. Come along for a great afternoon, support the band in the gardens and bring a chair, there will be plenty of shade available.
