Concert Band performs in Coolum

The Sunshine Coast Concert Band and guests will donate their time to perform in an impressive fundraising repertoire at the Coolum Civic Centre on Sunday June 19 at 2pm.

The band, led by music director, Ken Chadwick will present a concert featuring Graham Webb from 104.9fm as compere, singers Bev Gourlay, Alan Winter as well as a Men's Fashion show presented by John and Betty Christofis.

The repertoire will include a flute trio, trombone trio, alto sax solo of “Misty” and favourites such as Golden Wedding, Army of the Nile March, Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, As Time goes By, Brazil, Hymn and selections from Annie Get Your Gun.

“We like to showcase the talents of our musicians and our programme will give them the opportunity to do so with a number of solos and trios,” Ken Chadwick said.

“The Sunshine Coast Concert Band has a wealth of talent including a number of professional musicians who volunteer their time to fundraise for charity. We are delighted to give them the chance to show our audiences what they can do.”

Funds raised at the performance will be donated to the Coolum High Chaplaincy Fund and tickets cost $10 including afternoon tea. Tickets are available at the door and for more information, please contact 5450 6680.
