Coast will continue to boom, says developer

27 August 2008

While the recent slow-down in property growth and sales may have made some developers nervous, Terry Taylor believes the Sunshine Coast 's sustained population growth, buoyant economy and strong tourism numbers will see prices in the region continue to increase.

With his luxury White Shells apartments in Marcoola almost at completion and attracting a great deal of attention, Terry's next project Breeze which is soon to get underway, is aligning its environmental philosophies to maintain the lifestyle and beauty of the Sunshine Coast.

“If we can preserve what people love about the Sunshine Coast we will continue to enjoy significant growth in the region as the population continues to escalate and new residents seek the kind of lifestyle that attracted them here in the first place,” said Terry of Calpro Pty Ltd.

“It is important for us to offer a lifestyle rather than just a property – if we can get that right, we will continue to enjoy the exceptional growth we have experienced over the past few years.

“Prime beachfront property will always attract buyers but people are no longer satisfied with the cramped conditions usually associated with beachfront apartments, they want quality, space and innovative design.”

Terry says apartments used to be viewed as a stepping stone for home ownership, but now there is a trend towards apartment living to take advantage of location, convenience and the style on offer.

Breeze in the prestigious Boardwalk Coolum, will comprise of 96 exclusive apartments in four buildings spanning across three acres. It will be carefully developed within height restrictions to ensure the development does not ruin, but rather preserves the charm of the community.

“The Boardwalk precinct embraces traditional community values in a contemporary and family focussed style where residents can enjoy beach-style living, within a safe and secure environment,” he said.

With the Sunshine Coast growing to accommodate an average of 17,316 new residents each year and Coolum experiencing a 30 per cent growth in 2006-2007, Breeze will offer investors and permanent residents a unique lifestyle opportunity as the development cannot be built out.

“Breeze offers a competitive price perspective, offering favourable rental yields but also significant capital growth, especially for those who get onboard now and purchase off-the-plan,” he said.

To embrace The Boardwalk's sense of community, Mr Taylor has also committed to providing the local community with storage and toilet facilities for lifesavers patrolling the nearby beach.

Ends.
