The Team

Maya Gurry, Director

Fresh PR was established by Maya Gurry in February 2004 when she arrived on the Sunshine Coast from the UK and identified an opportunity to create a dynamic and ‘fresh' PR consultancy.

Maya brought with her a wealth of experience following a successful career in Public Relations both in the UK and in South Africa.  Before leaving London, Maya was Head of Marketing Communications for TrustMarque International based outside London where she and her team were responsible for global marketing and PR. 

Prior to this, Maya was the Public Relations Officer for Marks & Spencer's Food and Wine, based at their Head Office in Baker Street, London.  She was responsible for promoting new food and wine ranges to the UK media and was also the company spokesperson for food issues and managed media briefings and training of senior staff on issues such as BSE and Genetically Modified Foods. From 1992 to 1997 Maya worked for Volkswagen of South Africa in various positions including product PR, corporate PR and consulting to dealerships across South Africa on customer service. 

In 2005 and 2006, Maya was a finalist for the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network ‘Business Woman of the Year' awards and Fresh PR was a winner in the 2006 Excellence in Business and Export Awards. Maya regularly guest lectures at the University of the Sunshine Coast as part of the Public Relations program and also tutors for the International Communications course.

Maya settled on the Sunshine Coast to take advantage of the business growth opportunities and the lifestyle. Starting each day with a walk on the beach ensures a fresh mind and fresh ideas.

Megan Meineke, PR Consultant

Public Relations Consultant, Megan Meineke, joined Fresh PR in the middle of 2006 and is a dedicated member of the team. Along with a youthful enthusiasm and an outgoing personality she brings with her an energy and determination to succeed.

Megan has first hand experience in media relations, event management and internal communications. While working closely alongside Maya Gurry, Megan has had the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of PR and is able to assist clients in delivering high quality public relations campaigns.

An enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, Megan brings with her a strong work ethic and a desire to achieve quality results. Megan prides herself in offering a personal and professional service and has already achieved outstanding results in numerous high profile assignments.

Positions that Megan has held previously have helped her to acquire a number of diverse skills in international business environments as well as the sales, marketing and communication sectors. In the past, Megan has shown great leadership and management qualities in a number of areas.
